About the APA

MISSION STATEMENT

Formed in 1986, the Audio Publishers Association (APA) is a not-for-profit trade association that advocates the common, collective business interests of audio publishers. The APA consists of audio publishing companies and suppliers, distributors, and retailers of spoken word products and allied fields related to the production, distribution, and sale of audiobooks.

APA Areas of Focus

Education: Promote policies and activities to create greater awareness and accelerate audiobook industry growth (such as Sound Learning and June Is Audiobook Month).

Events: Deliver programs and services that serve the common business interests for all members (such as APAC and the Audie Awards).

Networking: Serve as a networking, educational, and informational forum for members.

Standards: Advocate for high-quality production values.

Members of the APA work together to increase public awareness for the audiobook industry by engaging in education, events, networking, publicity efforts, and research surveys.
